I recently ventured away from my usual territory for a bit of downtime, and I thought I\u2019d regale you with some of my activities on foreign turf. Not a humble brag, just a nice chill post about some of my experiences, k?<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Just Keep Swimming<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I do like the outdoors. Not in terms of huge walks, persay, but, \u2018y\u2019know, when there\u2019s some nice open water, that suits me just fine. And the benefit of being abroad is that the water in this domain isn\u2019t clogged full of sewage and whatnot from greedy, money-grabbing scumbags. Hooray! So I could swim with full knowledge that I wasn\u2019t going to get the lurgy. Nice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Am I a particularly strong swimmer? No, not really. But I love swimming, and that\u2019s what matters. A rough tide would likely yeet me away into the ocean domain. But the important thing to point out here is that I was swimming in a lake, so not much chance of that happening. A nice lake with nice weather. And a good temperature. Admittedly, my \u2018definition of \u2018good temperature differs wildly from others, in that I can weather colder temperatures than most. Which is ironic, because all it takes is a cold day in my homeland for me to get a few jumpers on and hunker down in shiverland for a good while. I also have this super cosy warm slanket kind of thing from a friend which makes certain house members hella depressed. But hey, it keeps me warm when I\u2019m cold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anyway, I went swimming every possible day and I enjoyed it. Mission accomplished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just keep eating<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mmm, food. Food is good, and when you\u2019re on holiday, I feel you get a kind of unspoken license to go off the hook. Within reason, of course. Gotta have some respect when you\u2019re in a foreign country and make a decent impression. Which reminds me of a couple of inebriated folks I saw at the station recently in my homeland having a rant at a load of foreign students and their team leader for not being allowed through the gates. Not a great look, especially since my homeland has that kind of reputation when it comes to inebriated folks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As for me, I don\u2019t go near that alcoholic stuff, so I\u2019m solid. But yeah, in terms of food, lots of lots of baguettes, lots of cheese, lots of choc, a lot of pastries, and a lot of coke. No, not that kind, you vagabond. I\u2019ve got some class, \u2018y\u2019know. No, I\u2019m referring to coca cola. I definitely went overboard with that particular substance. But it\u2019s all good, because it\u2019s just a once-a-year kind of thing. When I go, I go large, to quote a certain pink dude from The Mighty Boosh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Just keep sleeping<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Well, that\u2019s if you can get to sleep. There may be times when the land of nod is a difficult place to get to when certain house members possess particularly noisy breaths, colloquially referred to as snores. I slept fine most nights, sure, but sometimes the noise was a bit much. But hey, you can always stare up at the ceiling in despair to pass the time. And I may have forgotten to put an outside light on, leading to me having to use my Spidey skills to navigate certain areas of the house in pitch black from time to time. Not helpful, y\u2019know?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Overall, though, a darn fine time was had. I felt like a regular Snorlax by the end of the holiday (maybe apart from the regular swimming exercise and reading. As far as I\u2019m aware in the pokemon canon, my guy Snorlax has never engaged in such activities). A lot of food, a lot of rest. Nice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
