I did end up throwing it out, but y’know, I took a photograph of it. And I don’t want to worry about having to deal with a load of useless material down the line when I’m trying to free up space and whatever. Anyway, it’s here for all to see and admire. Meow. ₍^. .^₎⟆

I found another thing from nursery days, with clear handwriting most likely written by a teacher (not my goober self) that reads ‘A (blank) lives in a’ and then there’s a hand drawn picture below of a cat. And the blank space is filled in by the word cat, in less neat handwriting. Probs mine. I have no memory of where this particular artwork was completed, but presumably somewhere during a class in nursery. Anyway, onwards and upwards.

Literally upwards, in this case, because this looks like my artistic depiction of a sun. I think so, anyway. It looks more like something out of the Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared series, as if the yellow fella is having a nosebleed of sorts and is about to wreck merry havoc on those responsible. Just my interpretation, of course. I think the eyes look pretty good, but I’m not sure what to think about those white circles. And that stray bit of blue paint in the corner. I’ll just call this one…abstract. Yeah. That’ll do. I also found a particularly compelling depiction of my family that echoes that talents of a young Da Vinci. It does contain the names of said family members though, and I’m not a doxing kind of gal, so I’ll leave that pic out of sight.

Next up is a particularly nerdy drawing that I did on a yellow folder, which I assume is from my Pokémon crazy era. It seems to be Rayquaza having a fight with Kyogre. Y’know from gen 3? Where they have that big fight? No Groudon to be seen though. Anyway, if that fight reflected Pokémon types accurately, Kyogre would’ve beat Groudon no problem. And it has the ability to learn ice moves, which means it could’ve destroyed Rayquaza too, easy. Anyway, before the reader loses consciousness and catches some Zs out of pure boredom, as my parents used to do when they took us to see old Pokémon movies back in the day, let’s move on to a work that’s more difficult to decipher than the Unown riddles. Unown are a species of Pokémon, btw. No no, don’t fall asleep now, I’m moving on. “(っ- ‸ – ς)ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁

Words (As far as I can see them):

Kippri2 cudulinhi2taddy and hei2 wavin to Butu Foyl and puyie with his Fat boll cip and kippis’ Biff wos wakie of the biii

(Rough translation: ‘Kippris cuddling daddy and he’s waving to butterfly and playing with his fat ball chip and Kippis’ Biff was waking the bee’)

Sure, I may have translated some Old English back at uni, but this shit’s wild. I’m assuming Kippris is the main character and that Kippris is having a daft laugh with the butterfly. As you do. I can’t tell if Chip is a character. If Chip is indeed a character, than my reference to their figure as a fat ball is showing some concerning early signs of fatphobia from yours truly. I can only apologise profusely for my narrow mindset in this unfortunate case. (｡•́︿•̀｡)

Next up is an old homework diary from 2008-2009. The cover is filled with images of Mario and Animal Crossing, which makes a lot of sense. And then there’s this hand puppet.

Oof. I’m guessing the main point of the exercise was stitching on the outside, which looks good enough, but the rest of the composition leaves something to be desired. Googly eyes? Sure, that’s an acceptable addition. I feel like I could’ve gone for something more creative in terms of depicting the mouth. It’s not quite on Rembrandt level, if you know what I mean. And the felt cutting for the paws is woefully uneven. The Great British Stitch Off this ain’t. Ah well, room for improvement. Maybe. (｡>﹏<)

And last but not least (well, there’s a tonne of stuff I could’ve taken picture of before I chucked them out, but I just got some highlights), a summary of one of my takeaways after completing a weaving session. From the quality of the handwriting here (the image quality doesn’t do this justice, soz), I’d say about Year 1? Who knows?

‘My Weaving

I likked doing my weaving it was fun. I liked youing difit collrs. Ver wer sow much collrs to chos from. My fivit collr was Red.
